Worth Noting
Michael was born in Hemet, California and now lives in Forth Worth, TX. He started playing travel hockey at age 6 with the San Diego Gulls (formerly Stars). The last few seasons he played for the Dallas Alliance Midget Major AAA and Midget Minor U16 AAA teams. Michael started this season in the NAHL with the Wichita Falls Wildcats, but left the team to come home for personal reasons, including the health of his grandfather. His hockey highlights include: 1998 - Chosen to model for the CCM Hockey Annual Catalogue 2000 - Selected to represent the Pacific District and LA Kings at Brick Tournament in Edmonton, Alberta 2002 - Member of CA State Championship California Wave 90 Squirt team (undefeated season) 2003 - Member of Runner-Up Peewee AAA California Wave at Quebec Peewee Carnival 2003 - Member of Third Place Peewee AAA California Wave at US Nationals 2005 - Member of Runner-Up Bantam AAA Shattuck-St. Mary’s at US Nationals 2005 - Selected to represent District 06 at the Minnesota District Camp in Edina, MN 2006 - Selected to represent Texas at the Rocky Mountain District Camp in Salt Lake City, UT 2006 - Selected to the Rocky Mountain District at USA National Development Camp in Rochester, NY 2006 - MVP at EHK Hockey/USHN Challenge Cup and named to the All-Tournament team 2007 - Member of U16 AAA Rocky Mountain District Championship Dallas Alliance Bulldogs 2007 - Selected to represent Texas at the Rocky Mountain District Camp in Salt Lake City, UT 2007 - Member of the 3rd place U16AAA Alliance Bulldogs at US Nationals (3rd leading scorer) 2007 – Described by US Hockey News as "an all-around great player, has great hands and speed, plays both ends of the ice very well." 2007 - MVP at EHK Hockey / USHN Challenge Cup and named to All-Tournament team 2008 - Signed a tender with the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the NAHL 2008 - Selected to Fargo Force (USHL) 25-man protected list Away from the hockey rink: Michael enjoys playing guitar and drums and is active in his church, HighRidge, in Fort Worth, TX. He is in the Spring Semester at Tarrant County College. Future Plans: Michael is working hard on and off the ice to make the jump to Juniors and, subsequently, to the Division 1 Collegiate level. Michael has always had his sights on one day lacing up his skates for an NHL franchise and continues his passion toward that goal. |
